Pumpkin Witchy | Halloween 2017 +Video

Happy Wednesday! I have the first Halloween-themed card of the year to share with you today!

It features Whimsy’s August release image Pumpkin Witchy! I inked this cutie up using Memento London Fog ink. This ink is a lot lighter than the Tuxedo Black ink that I usually use with my Copics. This means that the inked lines fade into your coloration and give your image that “no-lines” look!

I alos used a few more Whimsy products to create this fun card. I love how all the elements came together!  The paper is from a digital file which makes it so easy to use. You just print out the patterns that you need when you need them! The sentimet and the doodle lines are from 2 different clear stamp sets and I used my FAVORITE rectangle dies to cut out the card mats. I love the uneven stitched lines around the edges!

Party Like a Pirate | MFT Stamps & Dies + Video

Happy Monday! I hope that it has been a good start to the week for you. Even while on Summer vacation, I have a hard time with Mondays!

I have a fun trifold card to share with you. Recently, I have seen these popping up on my instagram feed and I really like the fact that you can create quite an intricate scene as you have 3x the usual amount of space. I enjoy the fact that they can also be folded up neatly and mailed off in a standard A2 size enveope! However, this particular card was not mailed as it was made for my youngest boy’s recent birthday!

I used MFT stamps Party Like a Pirate Stamp and coordinating Die set to create this card. I also used some landscape dies from Mama Elephant as well as the nifty and quite amazing new Mini Cloud stencil from MFT. This thing makes creating fluffly clouds an absolute breeze (sorry about the pun)!

Due to the sheer volume of time it took to color all these images, I did not show all of them in the video.  So, as promised, I am listing each image panel by panel along with the copic markers I used for each one:

Paper Dolly Polly | Whimsy Stamps + Video

Happy day! Hope you are enjoying your Summer. I can’t believe that we are already in August. It won’t be long before the kids will go back to school. I am trying to avoid thinking about it. I guess, if I needed to think of an up side, I will get back into a routine once again and have more time to spend here in my craft studio!

I made a quick and easy card today with one of the new clear stamps sets from Whimsy: Paper Dolly Polly. I wanted to create an “interactive” card so that the recipient could play with the paper doll and switch out her outfits. I fussy cut everything out so that all you see is the solid black outline of the images.

Lily of the Valley Birthday Card + Video

Happy Monday morning! It is, in fact, one of the first days that I have had the opportunity to get back to my studio and edit videos and start on some blog posts. This Summer has been BUSY so far!

Way back when I started stamping and cardmaking, I had a few stamps from Stamping Bella that I loved. It has been such a long time since I purchased any more but these new images from the Tiny Townsies line are just too sweet to pass up, especially the ones that feature figures that are dressed as flowers. For this birthday card, I have used the Lily of the Valley one.

As you will see in the video, the card was very easy to make. The frame was die cut using a Mama Elephant die and by using some cardstock that had a weave textured pattern, I was able to add interest without going too fussy. The felt flowers are the added embellshments that I decided to add. They look hard to make, but in reality, once you know how to do it, they are super easy and a little addictive. See the video below to see how!

Mermaid Art Journal Page + Coloration Video

Happy Hump Day everyone! The weeks are just flying by and we are enjoying every moment of Summer break. I definitely don’t get as much crafting done during the Summer because I love spending time outdoors in our backyard. I enjoy tending to my gardens (I have a vegetable garden as well as herb and flower beds) as well as just relaxing in the shade with a good book or a lovely crochet project. The kids are a bit older now so they aren’t home ALL the time, but when they are I love to just relax and enjoy them.

A little while ago, I posted an Art Journal page that featured a lovely digital image from Elisabeth Bell. You can see that post –>HERE. I had a lot of comments about the hair on that project so I made another journal page and filmed the coloration process for you all. The hair technique as well as the colors used are the same as in the first journal page. Enjoy!

Copic No Line Coloring | Whimsy Stamps

Happy day! I am back today to share a video featuring No Line Copic Coloring. It is a technique that is a little tricky but the results are really phenomenal and they really change up how your coloring images look. In this tutorial, which I would like to call a beginners guide to no line coloring, I stamp my image with an ink that is much lighter than my normal Tuxedo Black from Memento, but not so light that you can’t see the lines. As you progress, you can use lighter inks to give an even more dramatic end result!

First of all, this gorgeous image is from Whimsy Stamps and is illustrated by Kirsten Winkenbauer. The name of the image is Star Princess.

After coloring the image up, I used Whimsy’s nested rectangle set to cut it out and then matted it with some coordinating green paper. I popped it off teh card-base with some fun foam and then added a few enamel dots. The sentiment was die-cut using some gorgeous gold foil paper. I really love the effect of die-cutting foiled paper!

I didn’t plan ahead far enough and by the time I got to the coloration of the stars, I realized that they couln’t be yellow or they would just blend into her hair. I combined some stickles and glossy accents and the effect was quite nice!
